Vision, Values, Strategies

Our Vision:
A network of dedicated and creative Christ followers – sharing our strengths and resources – to enhance our effectiveness in ministry and carry out the great commission.
 
Our Values:
  • The church is a body on a mission—a mission to serve and be in relationship with those in our communities and the world beyond.
  • Christ followers are contributors, not consumers.
  • Corporate worship experiences are: 
    1.      a celebration of who God is and what He has done.
    2.      a celebration of what has been happening in the life of the church during the week;
    3.      a place to encounter Jesus;
    4.      a catalyst for the continued work of the body of Christ;
    5.      a time to plant seeds of life change;
    6.      not the sole focus in the life of the church.
  • Sustained life transformation happens in relationships. Therefore, we will emphasize and model relational ministry.
  • Great things can happen when we build a community of trust and respect where we share what God has given us to accomplish a common goal. 
  • Planning ahead gives time for good ideas to come together, provides opportunity to involve others in carrying out worship, and allows for spontaneity.
 
Our Strategy:
  • By pooling the strengths and creativity of network members, we will enhance worship experiences. 
  • Messages and worship experiences will focus on a clearly communicated main point which is derived from the intent of the  author of the scripture passage.
  • Messages and worship experiences will create a tension that needs to be resolved, put forth a question that must be answered, or present a problem to be solved. Why should I listen to this?
  • Messages and worship experiences will teach the main thing through various means. What do I need to learn?
  • Messages and worship experiences will present a tool to use, a challenge to accept, a task to do. What will I do about this? How will this teaching change my life?
  • Discipleship materials will reinforce the main thing throughout the week.
  • Worship experiences will be as participatory/experiential as possible.
  • These values and strategies will be applied to different worship styles.
  • The Network will continue to identify ways to pool our resources to increase our effectiveness in carrying out the great commission.
