Jason Hamilton

I found my love of music at the age of 12 behind a drum set. After playing with a church youth group, and doing the clubs and bars circuit, I began to feel a call to do something more. I found my love for Christ and His love for me at my cousin’s funeral in 1989.Jason HamiltonIn response to this, I founded Life Support Ministries, a band that traveled over the Carolinas spreading the word of God through music, message, and relationships.

As the band grew, so did our passions, visions and ministries. After 8 years, the band (whose name eventually changed to imago Dei) had to retire from music to expand our ministries, since everyone in the band was now involved with starting or working for churches. I helped start Hillsdale UMC and was there for three years mentoring some of their current leaders. I then moved on to Tyro UMC where I helped start multiple services, and a small group for young adults that is still growing to this day.

I was then hired at Covenant Community Church as full-time music director.  Here, my passion has grown beyond music to include the entire worship experience.  My senior pastor dubbed me Director of Worship, and together we formed a worship design team that works to focus all elements of worship on one main point.  From this, the main thing process was born.

As the director of the team, I keep production of the service in mind to make sure all parts of the service are heading in one direction and will flow together smoothly.  I also contribute creative ideas and put feet on the ideas the team agrees to.

I mostly live on Interstate 40 between Asheville NC, where I work, and Lexington NC, where my wife Lori, and our 2 daughters, Macy (8) and Tessia (4) reside.  I strongly believe that the power of Jesus Christ will be revived in a mighty way through the relationships of the local church, united to carry out the great commission.
